The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Economies of Scales

In the shadow of Pyramids
fall obscure tetrahedrons
measured and orientated to
prove geometries can be made sacred

Graceful arcs approximating
lines formed of myriad motes
whose passing trajectories blush black
for a moment of coincidence

When observation perseverates for long
neurons to creep up over the macrophenomenon
like capricious phages of symmetries
and primary-colored-childish-shapes

Through which to hammer captured unaries
into sparks of fire husked from the
ardent core of stars refusing to twinkle
or orbit to the beat of spherical muzak

You may know when to perturb a flower to bloom
but its unfurling is an unintentional marvel
collapsing into a hasty persimmon jam while
the attentive scoff at whether it's close enough

From this peak with gaze condescending
the sand slows within the painted jar
and vertices are more than imaginary
as we count the euhedronal on our thumbs

The raging rapid riverflow seems quaintly
lacking proximity or relevance to fleas
harbored on the backs of tectonic leviathans
giving lichens their sunshine to pray

Let us savor our golden spurtled groats
and leave the scales to find their eyefall
as will finds its merciful discernment
of constants worthy of reverence and
form measured gingerly by fingers that touch
and join the flowing fabric drawn across
whatever tiny erect tenderness evolution may dare
to lavishly splurge upon to counter-balance
the ripples of a desert drifting without care.
