The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
The Hug

No lofty dream can tell
nor poetic verse convey
what we find in the arms of our Father
when we turn to Him to pray.

In words humbly offered,
In charity's open arms,
Trusting for strength and fervor,
Protected from mortal harm.

Whether in abundance we rejoice,
or poverty we concede,
let me always profess to Him
He is my heart's dearest need.

For in Love is all strength,
no fear can compare,
so boldly I go forth
in the Spirit's work to share.

If you would hear the call,
and dare to forget yourself,
Love one another,
for in Him is the greatest wealth.
