The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Rebirth

I grunt to lift
nadir to precipice
maelstrom to azure pool
hydrochloric to tallow dream
sallow to rutting and unrigored

unfestered and baptized in
virgin wool and walnut-dyed linen
myrrh rinsed away, annointed with
honeyed kisses and creamed carresses
crowned with bay and juniper berry
sat upright and spoon-fed adorations
crooning for your creativity
waiting in whispers
sated by longing for
freedom.
