The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Lakewalkers

Your visage nebulous and alight
master of the Goghian zephyr eddies of the night
soars among the stratospheres of thermoclines
while I tread maelstroms of blood and earth
gazing up through the stillness of oceans
sheds my hirsuit animality and drains
distended bronchials heaving with
the panic of the prehensive
once full of ardent distillations
to grasp Thomas' faithful arm
guiding him to walk upon the waters
as storms abate into broken clouds
and crepuscular rays fall around
the newborn and unsteady nee spastic
offspring of our conjuring intuitions
sweet is the spice that salts
the roiling beneath our savory stew
of words gathered by jaegermenschen
who slayed dragons of alabaster and
now lay their heads to dream of
courage flourishing with libations
and songs of cosmic pageantries well cast
against the firmament a digit draws
a number to our Mene-Tekel days
meting out our atomic reactions
and mitochondrial measure
while first fledges the newling
flapping to catch the next uplifting.
