The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Mesmeration

Relax my child, my dear friend
Gaze into my alliterations
the eh aw ou of my assonances
sweet raining on your tin roof
cacophany fades to enchantment
and the slumbering of the ponderous
and plodding wonderings and what-ifs
let me lead you through our burning house
unscathed and enveloped in warmth
laughing at the jest of the distant tragedy
smiling at the disconnected perfidy
euphoric at the Ides of apoplexy
content to abide and lend a prayer
blessed and prepared to care
whatever may or might
lay me down your sight
and find my vision fair.
