The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Dragon Chowder

Curled up and crunchy
Bedded in milky curd
Bejeweled with pebbles
of moss and berry

Furled in whirly thought
Setted in leaden word
Sparkled with whit or whim
or ennuied vim

Juniper wince
recoils the tongue
so flagrancies can flare
and warm in ember light
the quavering hearth
and radiant core
once iron in nickel
spun to a dervish shrill
ecstatic sputterings
spent sparks and ashes
fall diffuse in
the letting go
and finding of went
the way
we all whisper
at the night.
