The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Cicadic

emerges the proper season
of the chirping chatoyancy of the night
rivered cascades of crescendos polish
silence into sultry pearlescences
sound eddies blinking like fire flying
phantoms of our neighborhood glades
chanting stories of watermelon picnics
and corn cob butterings by the deluge
of groundlings roaming their rituals
ever awash in the heat flush of the chorusing
march from the abandoned coziness of caves
to climb worship at wooden everests
shucking off their flotsam armor
in an epic bloom of tender caviar
would that we could learn from
such a blessed orgy of honesty and
eternal intent and jetison our
character and fairytales to join
the great snake ball of consciousness
heads consuming nothing but the beauty of tail
and let loose the neutron light of our
heavier layers congealing and consolidating
our carbon into the gilding of silted fossilations
and evaporate into tomorrow's rain from
the muddy cloudiness of the primordial
we emerge the proper season
