The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
AudioPhage

memory smeared across an echoic vista
flashing with fragments of familiarity
and eccentric orbits of clinging flotsam
riding the crests of an alien heartstorm
skipping over the abysmal betweens
luxuriating in the subharmonic pyrotechnics
geometric blossoms on intractable trajectories
just let them expand beyond the undreamed
sakura tears of incomprehending youth
unspied plumdrop yearnings grown overripe
with unregrettably persimmon libations
from lips bitterwet and want-wanting to
reach further deeper and under if not behind
the curtain call of the tide-melody receding
from the shipwreck of the soul on foreign soil
a head wearily lifted once more to listen
for the crystal fountain somewhere bubbling
far from our parched parabolic searching
collecting each errantly gifted neutrino
another pearl between unpolished teeth
melting like the gossamer of a glacial mint
web of new breath unbreathed annointing
our unconsecreated alveoli with an insufflation
just as sacred as sweet puppy breath kisses
while our broken bones tire of remodeling
our onionflesh so long stripped to the nacre
bundles of uncandling nerves unstraining to
catch the cartography of the night-tuition
that tossed this broken vessel upon some shore
to make it all somehow bearable for another
measure until the plagal cadence falls to
dissipate the gravitas and bruisings
so another corpse-flower-antenna may tower silently
consuming what hebeloma morsels may approach
