The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Brabantic Vague

Bucolic with the ochre of peasantry
Goghian the golden flittering leaves
having landed on gloom flaming cypress
wrigling with artistic tittilation
for we, the potato eaters sit agawk
and wait for the toll of the brush
slapping against the bulge of expectant
splines like bones awaiting the sanguine
garb of sensation radiating wantonly
in lonely desperation, the robes of
care and concern dropped upon the floor.

Smoothly undulating cilia glean hungrily
from the milk of the miasmically maternal
flow clipped into a cacophany of conceptual confetti,
a river bending back into the grey blue
picolated with an orange dappling of distant
lights and the errant chimney spire smoldering
wrapping the dour in an undeserved gilding gelding
unable to quench the incessant warmth of
uncraven creating broken upon the altar
in unbonely trepidation, the blush of
dare and absolution propped up to an encore.
