The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Focus

Let us tire of words
of crafting the clever
of muttering to ourselves the genius of insight

For we have ever been able
to click our rubied heels
and find ourselves in a point of Focus

The sublime balance between the weight
of our findings however repeatable
and our obligations to honesty

Simultaneously in all points
we must know our chorus of feelings
and understand instinct, desire, and fear

I am a romantic
as surely as I am salt-o-the-earth
another chimpanzee tossed beyond our ancestors' apogee.
