The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Unexpected Vulcanity

Stalactitic cracking
at the frequency of titans yawning
mineral soup painted into dissipations
cleaving eternity into planes
and we the hydropustule inclusions
feel emotions running through our hair
dreaming of escape velocities while
huddling in the fleeting warmth of the cave
the big bang but a breath exhaled
and we the dancing platelets watch the sun
burn forests into a zircon desert until
the narcotic ripple of the gestating
breeds an aquifer of the intuitively
inclinated whose salt chases magnetism
in white matter spasms of the subdural
rivers of desperate bloodletting
while our jaws unhinge to encompass
galaxial turnings and the effervescence
of our daily simmering into silence.
