The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Why Do You Haunt Me

Alone, I sit here
Taunted by your memory,
Oh why must it be so
Why do you haunt me?

Your love is more grecious
Than diamonds or gold.
This price, I cannot pay
What must I do.

So far away
We touch - a fantasy
No hope - I cannot see
Your Love - I long for thee

The moment has passed
Yet I cannot forget
Release me, dark Spectre
Or show thy face

I would give the world
To lie in your arms
To hold you again
To feel so warm

Why do you haunt me?
With only a memory to see
Let our Love set us free
Oh why can't it be?
