The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Noyana (Hymn of Joy)

Join the circle circling the sunset hymn
Lock arms to the dervish drumbeat falling
slanting upon my brother's sister's shoulder
let the mind clap upreaching unaware of
the strange geometry of this momentary
flare embers asparkle and sputtering against
the resin we exude by our jubilation that
waxes to summon all heaven and hell

The divine aperture relaxes
the twisted root to encompass those open
to a greater sway and intentionality
magnetised by the chemical conference
beauty flutters our eyes with lashings of
cascading scintillations of the florescent
whose plasma of nectar intoxicates with
a deeper breath of ultraviolet fluorescence.
