The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Sapphires Sepaled in Citrine Lace

From the finger plowed care of the garden plot
burst the pea-shoot-twisting of seminal aspirations
tender shoots growing like mitotic sparklers skyward
through the air rights of bumblebee nebulae that span
the susurrating blotches of color that pool atween
the verdance flushing above earthworm constellations.

Behold the bombacious bloom of pendulous bluebells
attended by buttercup handmaidens giggling all ablush
gathering sweetly redolent sprays of red clover
tussie-mussie nosegays to be wrapped with a silver-edged
lavender ribbon begilt with lemon lace laughter
carefree skipping along the alabaster-pebbled way.
