The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Cascade

Athousand kamiokandic tubes hum
Angel fur untussled strum
Metachondrial automata splayed
Eden's virgin legacy astray

Dust in the window
caught up in a whirlwindering
gust so soon to nucleate-
dissipate into icy plumage

Snow slaloms the sky
Heralds the slug of hail
Icy deluge drifting against
the foot of the mountain
of mushroom residue raining
down the channeled bifurcations
of foliations of fingered hands
spiraling like an eyelashed opening
flames circling the tornadic
descent into the swollen heart
straining against this pericardial
illusion we toil to stretch or
expand to make the placenta burst
streaming milk and honey and
that radioactive fertilizer that
proves the mote given to its perturbation
is not in vain.
