The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Glyphism

Author reclines by the fireside
to scrawl imaginings of the wallless
in the crumbled glyphs of historic idioms
lest words be branded as lunatic rave
too much effort to decrypt sans-rosetta
what one may only tell in stories twisted
in subtle elaborations carefully muttered
beneath the breath so as not to perturb
the earworms of a rising generation
with no need for obsolescent intelligence
though they seizure shake when allusions
shiver down their many-beasted-back
in honeyed subharmonics that release their
yearning with the primal screams of their
fathers fallen into ghostly hallucinations
still sleeping beneath phosphoric stars
and watching milky galaxies grind
while the children greedily drink with
dandelion breath from the wiser petroleum
they pour upon their passions blaze
unriddled of the lingering sage
brilliant grill gleeming in polished glyphs.
