The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Linaloolial

Rosewood freshly shaven
to a wisp flittering like
an exhale of smoky feathers
caught upon Aeolian pinions
spinning a Coriolian dance

Edith her proud hair undone
left an unspun flaxen rose
with dabs of orange blossom
behind each silently supple ear
bringing an air of repose

Francis unfurled upon the divan
fingers like unfallen petals
over divinely lavendered cushions
with daylily buttons so pert
singing sunbeams find them bullion

Edward with ginger-spiced locks
enthralled by the glitter of motes
descending upon sallow moonbeams
caresses the folds of his velvet
duvet until they relax sublime

Cassia held to a cherry ember
eyelids fluttering at the flagrance
of gravity upon a fallen body
while the mind in Eden tarries
spiraling beyond the blue marble stance
