The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
The Marvel of the Milquetoast

Let us fold away our standards and ancients
and lift our gaze upon the green furrows
bury jungle-hot beans and winnow the
worn-away truths weathering the dervishs
that erase the artifices of the dynastic

Let us wash away yesterday's rouge
and brisk our countenance in water flush
quaff the bitters to unbutter our tongues
and slather ruddy quinine milk paint
upon our barnyard households so we may sup.
