The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Fourfold

The solitary mortal bears facets
to refract the immortal and the sky
the alpha and omega, careful names
scribed into the zircon-like
lexicon of the Satyriconical nature
of our experience and apprehensions

Forgive us for mistaking
our hexaflexagon selves for
gemstones when we bloom with fragility
redolent and musky we disintegrate
into sky zephyrs and dream we are
the next haboob.
