The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Maternal Savagery

Why
does Mother Universe consume
her offspring to birth the
plundering of beautiful accretions
to pour overflowing the blood
rivers of entropic evolution
chuckling with the mycology
of godzilla corpses bitten by
the viral accolytes of gravity.

Who
boasts of an ancestry of
hamburgered eyeballs and
spaghettied sinews?

Stoke the fires of Adonia!
Rend ashcloth into libations
leave no grape or breast unsqueezed
burn effigies of crustied Grandma
for hers is the first and last
supper of discontented gnashing
smashing the iconoclastic
emasculating Ganymedes' children
until unsated we kiss the dirt and
give Gaia her due.
