The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Unperturbed

So orbit the crystalline moons
leaving snail trails of pearlescence
and the glass harp melodies of
the battering of neighboring nebulae
heavy giants heaving vast wakes as
they turn in the celestial dynamo
and slumber to the quasar's squail
in rhythmic burstings faintly chiming
in Whoville who toil unaware and
unperturbed by the unheard
subharmonic progressions of the
master ego as she gambles and plays
rambles and splays as we drift
afar and unaffronted succorred by innocence
and selfish naivite as we build
floating cities so our people may have
streets on which to starve and
our thinkers need not stray into
the upper-vistas or grandeur
of what's really going on around us.
