The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Doppelgänger

He walks the other
side of me, sending
the ravens aflutter.

He sits alone by fire light
in quiet glow, then
glances back.

There his shadows rustle
by, and in his angry
torment, glowers.

In ruminant stillness,
thoughtful vision is
beguiled by a stiff chill.

Wandering the range
of anxious cares, he
defies the worst to come.

And it comes to him
that something approaches
or someone.

For someone approaches
or awaits with anxious
care for another.

In stillness or vision,
in quiet glow or
glances aflutter,
he sits down in
torment and glowers.

Wandering the range
of thoughtful visions,
he defies the worst
to come.

It was then
I looked into his face
and passed beyond.
