The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Wallflower

Awaken to brush my hair
don my garb
imbibe my brew and
hasten to consume the
morning milieu

So I may sit out on the
porch and swing, dangling
above the pantomime
of tautologies and thieves

Scrolling the great youtube
of historic exaggerations
watching the bloom and shrivel
of the errant conflagration

Awed by aberrations ridiculously
delicious and titillatingly sweet
the dopamine drip steers one to
slumber flushed with transient treats

Until we rise to piss ourselves
back into the straining timeline
and ogle our hunger veering
into the fated feast fantastic

But once sated of breathing sarcastic
and hearing our heartbeat swell
we peer up unexpectantly to spy clouds
where greater harlequins in full plumage dwell
