The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Vorgriff (Apprehension)

Lay naked in yearning,
not fetal but fervently
outstretched.

Close the eyes
to the shadow figures
dancing.

Reach from the darkness
of blind depth
within.

Abandon sensibility,
false sensitivity
stripped.

And in the inkling
of a moment
dawning.

Reach unbounded to...

Cry for any spasm
of memories
flaring.

Dive beneath any wave
of feelings
rising.

Scream with no voice
for all that remains
unquenched
and
let the emptiness
burn on unfettered fingertip.
