The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
The Temptation

My eyes open to the
radiance
of the sky
clouds
my mind
to know
where I am
and want
to be.

I feel
wings of
silken feathers
grow to my
limbs as
winds of will
converge on
my fragile
frame
swept to the sky
in a rapture
of desire
landing in
the apple tree

My heart
bursts forth
to feeble
my grasping
hand,
binding with
love strings
to itself
my desire.
