The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Over the Threshold

Here we stand
at the door of a new day
look into our eyes
smiling - no words to say.

Hand in hand
about to unlock a new horizon
there is no trembling
in our eager anticipation.

You carry me o'er
the brink of hopes so bold
no waver from the weight
only love in your hold.

Your love is my dream,
my end and aspiration.
This is our home,
our true foundation.

My brave Beloved,
who first leapt into this
wonder-filled falling,
flying above the abyss.

Dreams can be an idea,
unrealized, fanciful flights
But your foot over doorstep
takes us to new heights.

Words written build anew
A career to serve
A place in the community -
The life we deserve.

My Writer, my Love,
Gather up those life-worn leavings
Kindle new flames of
Heart-felt achievings.

Let loose that curious
boy whose eye sets to wonder
Whose compassion explores
and voice dares to thunder.

Share the spark of awe
Lift the rhyme-ensnared,
Whose grammar falters
and words need repaired.

Find in the marvel of life
the wages of a deeper calling.
And my joy will be complete
in your visions enthralling.

A cannot see beyond
this threshold before us.
Except to see joy renewed
and our future together.
