The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Disbanded

How thin the veil of asymptotes
through which we view the underpinnings
of rational considerations and
round our fears into compromises to
placate the irrationality of Grendel's
approach to the improbability of living
spider heart entrapped between the
claw and tooth of a jouled crown
time turns work into power to bend
tapestries into dynasties hiding
their divisibility with diamonds
soon to be dusty bones drawn into
a cosmic matrix of constellations
upon the heavens by which we claim
the fire of entitlement, that
mortal grail that too quickly pales,
before the patternless ether
we call darker matters of the faceless
yet prone to pulling the spheres apart
in the entropic dissection we call
time and its gravity that swings us
towards heavier bodies until we
wink away like lost dwarves wizened
and white yet too tired to burn in
our wise unknowing that urges us
to a new iconoclasty of clipping
bird bands from our conservations
and letting the lions roam freely
across our last lamby days as
we wait for the jawcrush of our
own juicing.
