The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Condescension

I am shameless
in my self-indulgence,
for I exude gravity
to bend 'lables into echoes
rippling into the unheard,
coarse musk-marked and
assiduously preened
so that I can begin
my phaethonic ascent.

And from my ecstasis, I look down
and revel in my Nebuchadnezzarian dream
for in a moment, I shall a pauper be
whose pocketholes capture naught but the now.
