The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
An Emergent Geometry of History

Garish the hues of the forditic[1] flow
that dazzle the pundits of paint drying
who ascend to their pulpits to pontificate
or influence with bite-size candies the
children who will gather round the furnace
to consume their trays of soylent comestibles
while harsh shadows burn their retinas with
superhero mania so they may feel
outrage at the injustice of it all.

Meanwhile moss and tender lichens gather
upon the fallen forest dreams of the wide-minded
to feast upon its protective aura unardently,
soft bedding for the beatles that burrow
its marrow into the stain glass of humus mulm,
myriad moments of compressed silence luminesce
from the unpacking of hunched-porchlight-grace
forgotten only by evanescent egos, the choir
echoes the jubilance of the prodigal embrace.
