The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Above

Long since I've quested
in burning yearnings
to ascend to the glittering
gutters of the gray
city on the hill.

Youthful eyes once flashed
with pyritic mesmerisms
to descend into the granite
veins to nowhere and nowhy
gutted on the streetside.

Arisen atop stallion steed
endowed in sterling panoply
circumambulating heavens gate
paved by aphoristic familiars
fallen from castle rock.

Cast down by meteoric causations
rended open into smoldering dross
trickling crimson belies the torpor
orgone congeals to animus
garnered from Brownian motion.

Sublimated into consciousness
decrepit legs need no path
homeostastasizing on weightless wings
euphoria sparkles afresh
free from every city's shadowfall.
