The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Countenance

Oh Beauty's Head before me held[1]
'pon graceful curves so tenderly imbued[2]
with radiance upon the shadows quelled[3]
whose loss within me is so deeply rued.[4]
[5]
Such sensuous warmth within subtle lines,[6]
sweet silky outline my passions raise,[7]
smooth symmetries enrapture my mind[8]
with invisible depth to set my soul ablaze.[9]
[10]
Illumine me with your sumptuous luculence[11]
that I might gaze within your guarded gate[12]
and from your touch my longing quench[13]
my ardent blindness before my breath abate.[14]
[15]
For should I open my eyes, and fail to meet[16]
my heart's one longing in your Countenance[17]
beneath hell's pangs of consuming heat[18]
I'll forever treasure my love's lost sense.[19]
