The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Angle of Inflection

When did we rise erect to touch the clouds
leverage the lightning of our throw
shed our fur for persistence hunting
and fashion a dna of stories to
pass off our yearnings as jabberwockies
so we may learn to fear and call
too soon our insurmountables victories
and our luck destined dominion
we domesticated ourselves to fashion cathedrals
of card catalog lexicons and binary topographies
so we could litter the moon with flags
while our inner child scribbles in window fog
and plots bedlam at the market
our cancers project on the walls
while we speak in hushed screams and
crouch over our neighbor's hoard.
