The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Alure

Does the gurry shark giggle
at the water cooler cacophony
or glide in the saline stillness
of profound depths where
the mortally-minded cannot
flex their lungs to speak
or spare a neuron's flare
here in the garden of darkness
even squid don't dare spelunk
amid the slowfall of marine snow
but we transparent souls
luminesce from time to time
even at the bottom of god-drawn
ruts where angels are astir
to lure the slow dawn of insight
