The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
The Wilderness Awaits

Delicate drops of dew
Float o'er soft serene...
Silence.
Stillness.
Cool crystal breezes
blow upon never-touched...
Beauty.
Blushing.
Radiant rays of sunlight
fall freely to
illuminate,
what only now I see.

Long ago some way unknown,
a seed here fell.
Tender sprouts, strong
push up, out
struggling against
the earth.
Full of life, love, longing
to become
Delicate beauty
arose
exploded forth
amidst the wilderness.

Graceful lines
curving flowing
outline its body of...
gentle leaves
			enfold
the graceful lines
its body
		curving flowing
to a single
sensitive...
wrapper in tightness
holding together
folded
wrapped
upon itself
a bud.

Shimmer white glow
Soft perfection
Creamy, cuddling
closed.
Layers of leaves
				enshroud.
I long to loose each inner petal
from folliage fresh with dew.
Leaves of old, grown thick of days
wrapped tightly around the new.

Beauty shines
			out
Not open
		yet
			happy
to see the day
the dawn
and soon...
Love fills my heart
what
	I behold
this solitary joy.
A moment passed.
Opening
		eyes
			see
				wonder-
full of fear.
Behold
	  the wilderness
				  a moment
Turn your shining beauty!
yes
	see
		I
			am
				here.
yes
	I
		see
			here
your shining beauty
breaking bud bursting
forth from forgotten
leaves.

Petals now fold un
loosing
my love.

I am with her

rapture running
jumping joy
her gaze to sip
her eyes to kiss
			   with my petals.
She sees me
I've waited for you
can you see
we are together
happy
sound
for a while
enjoy me
Oh that you would
see the vision in
my eyes fixed on
your new-born face
(the face I hold
only yesterday
my self born)
we are alone
		   together
we grow together
touch me.

Thank you Father
entwined
		our lives
				allowed
to be,
the joy
		her blossom
				breathes
in me.
Unfully whole, we
stand alone, here
as the wilderness awaits.
