The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Unrobed

In a shudder the remembrance returns
as the moon falls 'long petroglyphs
illuminating tales of past revelations
solemn procession of the neo-neophytes
nightly baptized into satyr's gaze
brilliant darkness-piercing sapphires
bend the void into inverted visions
of berberis in trillion creep
vermillion volcanic roots sinter
the apparent from dayleaving's scraps
eye orbs lean starward free to escape
the gravity of sol and weightless among
the dark forest to prance enjubulating
with ecstatic resonance at every caress
of briarwoods unraveling into moss
an ocean of transformations churning
in gasps of amazement at the utter
nudity of scaffolding and sinew asunder
til chimes the toll, the last call
to gather one's frolick into more
dignified robes lowering one's hood
under the bloody lintel to descend
into a new dawn of reawakening.
