The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
The Evanescence of Summer

Sated sleepy grin my noggin down
Down fluffy woolen pillow pancakes
Warm pours my pitcher ear
Maple sparkles down the percale
Alight with sunbeams and snores.

Dreaming of pina coladas by azure oceans
I miss the wane of noontime into
Fallen shadows and the slow sink of
hollow trunks adorned by amanitas
and turkey tails tucked in mossened blankets.

Molested by rooting and raindrops,
covers unfurl in warm dissipation
the atmosphere lost to drafty inhales
and mutterings of daylight's absence
and the abstinence of stoking the new year.
