The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
The Piquant Caper

To be a sea monkey in a herkimer inclusion
strange hydrocarbon brine at the
vertex of temporally tectonic glaciers
pop a bisodol to free the wind
that drives the tides of a childish eye
spinning the octagedral to watch a bubble dance
like some concave fire starter searching for the
antlike to scratch the awefull curiosity
to call it a billy and abscond with the insight
he dreams of stills of opalescent moonshine
but by day pulls the leg off the insignificant
so shall we not call armageddon a crime
unprepared to discern horsemen or the seven
nor admonitions to grow the fuck up
and study your talmud and tanakh or tasseled
locks that beg the finger to stir
and melt into the mulligan stew of
deliciously creamed cultures of the
urban jungle dark and vividly painted
against the pitter-patter of the polyrhythmic
drumbeat syncopating my spoken word as
the largest stone is turned over
and we watch what crawls out to meet us.
