The Poetry of Mark Daniel Milbocker
Hummingbird Waves

What where I say why
neither when nor whether
how in all its shimmering plumage
running to the back of the line
with a degust of perseveration
mime bends the head with jazz hands
fluttering above your itchy eyelashes
perturbed by too many proximities
hurrying to gather from the florescence
without a balk of sideeye doubletake
just straight into the center of it all
to feast from the turgid breast veins
crossing the carnelian-adorned threshold
handraised word given to Ra then to Thoth
carelessly windwalking through walls
and primordial petroleum portals pooling
pausing only at the honeypot to let
the throat clear and word be spoken
to divide the waters from their boundaries
another alb draped across the shoulders
pushing down into the nucleic reservoir
diaphanous depositions of infoenergy
birthing stars within ever heavier atomologies
only gazing back to find the way forward
arcing in angled samplings of our own marrowalities
a wander heart lusting for the untouched garden
weaving the hirsute future upon its latter days
inagnostic to the pulsar's blaze, space folds
to let the lil-breasted messenger through
and with its quicksilver trail, all the owls amaze.
